The Council’s definitive guidelines for blackmail and kidnap and false imprisonment offences come into effect on 1 April along with a package of changes to motoring related guidelines, including new guidelines for aggravated vehicle taking offences and an overarching guideline for driving disqualification.

The Council has delayed the implementation of the revised guideline, Imposition of community and custodial sentences.
